Michigan state representative Jim Lower is advertising himself as a pro-Trump conservative, but he is closely tied to former Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley, who led the ‘Never Trump’ movement in Michigan with Reps. Justin Amash and Fred Upton heading into the 2016 election.
Lower even boasted that he would model himself after Justin Amash when he first won elected office, claiming that following in Amash’s lead would “give the citizens in the county some input and see each and every vote.”
Lower claims “he grew “disenchanted” with Amash after he came out against Trump after repeatedly voting for Amash and helping with his campaigns, but the two men share a powerful close ally in former LG and state house rep. Brian Calley, who was the ringleader of the ‘Never Trump’ movement in 2016.

The article is legit. Amash and Calley are best friends. Calley had his dad pay for the first year of Lowers tuition. Essentially lower is calleys apprentice. The tweet by Amash was set up. The huge media push by Lower may have been coordinated with Lower....how does a candidate who does not live in district get so much attention?

So far, Norton looks more /KAG/ than Lower.
Jim Lower, on his website actually claimed that he paid for his own education.
It was then Brian Calley's brother John, who actually made public, that Jim received a 10K loan from the dad, Doyle Calley.
Obviously, if the Calley's and Lower were trying to cover this fact up, to help Amash, John Calley wouldn't have busted Jim Lower on that matter.
Your characterization that Lower is Brian Calley's "apprentice" is made up.

The article uses hyperbole. It claims that Brian Calley led the ‘Never Trump’ movement in Michigan with Reps. Justin Amash and Fred Upton heading into the 2016 election.
Brian Calley endorsed Trump in May of 2016. Calley then wimped out after the Hollywood Access tapes and dropped Trump. Since then, Calley has said that his dropping support for Trump was a mistake. Since then Calley has fully supported Trump.
Lower has always fully supported Trump and has criticized Amash on numerous issues.
It's a logical fallacy to assume that because two people have a mutual friend or ally, that they themselves are friends or allies.
Actually, the quotes are true. The Amash tweet and Lower getting in early are all tied together. Amash town halls are all coordinated. The announcement on twitter and lowers entry were bit parts in a play. How else does a 30 yr old get the notoriety and on fox news when he is not a member of the district and not filed. It was all staged.

Lower supported Calley for Governor in 2018....its not a couple of years ago. Lower is Calleys protege. Lower is quoted in the article. Lower has only worked in Lansings swamp his entire life.

LOL....I’m Supporting Tom Norton. He has all the grassroots and ground support in the 3rd already. Nobody knows Lower here at all. So many people put a lot of hype into Lowers push poll put out by The Daily Kos. No, I am not kidding. Lowers campaign staff are not Trump supporters at all. Lower is in to get Norton out. If there is one person Justin Amash would NOT want to debate on a stage, it is Tom Norton.

I forgot about Norton, because unfortunately he, in my opinion, has distant third written all over him. A failed State Rep candidate is not someone with the profile I’m looking for to take out an incumbent RINO and hold a lean GOP but not safe seat in November (Amash, should he lose, will probably be passively aiding the rat ala Mark Sanford). We’ll see. I’d hate for Jihad Justin to win with under 50%.
