In my business, earning money, serving customers, distributing product smoothly, supporting my employees is a constant, daily struggle. We search constantly for ways to keep customers happy and avoid pitfalls of all kinds that will hurt us.
I simply can’t imagine the size of the bureaucracy (and money available to feed it) within a large company where such a large ideological bubble and disconnect from reality can develop.
As Adam Smith said - there’s a lot of ruin in a great nation. I guess the same applies to once-great companies also.
The new commercial that gets me is the Cottonelle toilet paper one. Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to show a gay couple, then make the statement that your product is especially made for “care down there”?????
I haven’t watched network TV in years so I would never see one these ridiculous commercials. Nevertheless I will grow a beard down to my feet before I will ever spend another dime on a Gillette product.

While “teaching your son to shave” is a social “trope” reality is, most guys couldn’t tell you jack about their first shave... I believe mine was my dad came home from the store, flung a pack of cheap disposable twin blades at me and a can of shaving cream and said, get that fur off your lip.
Cottonell toilet paper is jumping on the pervert bandwagon also. I just saw a homo targeted add where they state “Be the guy you’d like to take home to Mother.” (Maybe not verbatim). There is some cartoon illustration that demonstrates the quality of their product. I think it’s supposed to imply that you’ll be lickably fresh. (I am not joking)
