The issue isn't leaks of "fake news" ... or leaks of classified information. The issue is the way the FBI/CIA was leaking information to the media for the sole purpose of getting it published in the public domain ... and then using the published information as the legal grounds for getting FISA warrants.

Sorry — from your post I wasn’t clear if you were saying this: The media wasn’t functioning as some kind of tool (unwitting or complicit) for the FBI/CIA in this. They are as much a part of the U.S. intelligence apparatus as the CIA director is.
