They have families - rather large ones. Much like the brownshirts, they’re entire family will disappear overnight. My best friend growing up was/is an Iranian Christian - his dad left when he could, and came here.
He fills me in once in a while as he still has family there. There has been progress but it’s risky business.
Last year he risked his life and flew there for the protests during that time they banned that telegram app that the resistance was using to communicate. For the most part that quieted down the uproar, but it’s bound to be replaced, this time by something better.
Has to be some single men interested in freedom...
