Trump as the Wizard of Oz. I'll have to think about that. Building the wall now would end the invasion sooner even if he uses the invaders to build it. The way Trump is doing it might take another decade.

I suggested putting illegals to work building the wall in chain gangs decades ago.

Hiring the border immigrants to construct The Wall would allow ....

Why pay foreigners when you can hire unemployed Americans, who would do a better job anyway?

Davis Bacon requires union labor. Amazing how many dumb ideas come from those who know nothing about construction.

This is the stupidest article of the day - even though the day is young, the competition is closed.

In 2005, Charleston SC had a new bridge open. I know two people who quit construction on it because working with illegals scared the crap out of them. In an earthquake, that bridge is the last place I want to be.

When the United States limited immigration in the 1920's the limits acted like a lid on the economy and the economy imploded.

He’s not suggesting that the Great Depression was caused by limiting immigration, is he?

Not hire them to build the wall, but force them to do menial labor on it as the sentence for their attempt to invade; then when it is finished, thrust them out to the other side with a permanent sentence of never setting foot inside the boundaries of the U. S. A. forever thereafter.

In the late 80’s at a management dinner/meeting sponsored by a DoD contractor, a representative of the boarder patrol spoke to about 200 attendees about the 400,000 illegals that were caught crossing the border that year. He had no statistics on the number that were not apprehended. He went on to say that the best deterrent was to erect a wall and a twenty by twenty foot trench to run its length. The burden on the US citizens was becoming unbearable. We as tax payers were picking up the tab for all the welfare extended to the illegals that made it through.

During the Q&A, a attendee ask why the feds were not forcing the apprehended to construct the barrier and dig the moat. The answer: “We couldn’t do that. It would be considered forced indentured slavery.” At that the entire room groaned in unison. It was not okay to force criminals to pay for their crime but okay to force us as tax paying citizens of good standing to be enslaved by our government to support them as well.

Put them to work to build the wall. When they have paid their fine in hours of labor, then kick their sorry asses out.

Sure because no specific skills are needed right? Companies bidding don’t have employees? Oh well if we don’t care about quality should be fine. No harm giving more American jobs to illegals either. /s

You don’t need to hire them. Just put them to work as they cross the border..

No. A great nation would take illegal aliens invading this country and other criminal elements under incarceration and put them to work in forced labor building the wall.

Ridiculous.

W’re not short the labor or resources to build the wall and far better to pay Americans. We’ve already given far too many jobs to illegals and low-skill legal immigrants over Americans as it is.

And plenty of our wealthiest and most culturally cohesive countries in the modern era are just that because they’ve resisted the lure of cheap, low-skill immigrants.
