It was cut in planning. The cop couldn’t kill them, because that would be the end of the show. They’d be surrounded by angry viewers shouting “White kids shouldn’t get shot until they’re old enough to go to jail!”
Which brings us to the foreseeable consequences. You shoot two eight year old boys, who were only bringing knives and didn’t even get to the gun fight, and instead of the usual 40,000 rioters, you’ll have 100,000 at the Ghaza fence alone. Big intifada, and the UN, MSM, USA, EU, and BDSers just for starters, calling Bibi a Nazi, comparing Ghaza to the Warsaw Ghetto, despite the obvious differences, and a united Security Counsel resolution that Trump would be hard put to veto, and would get even more flak than usual for vetoing.
And the savages wouldn’t stop it, they’d ramp it up even more. They’d send over ElTiny ElTimmy with a knife to get shot. Then a little old lady with some nice cookies will pull out a knife from the bottom of the tray, just in time to get shot. The monsters who put people up to suicide missions have plenty of expendable people, and they’ll just pick out the most sympathetic ones. A toddler sucking her thumb and lisping, twins, hot chicks in chadours, you name it.
I wish it were as simple as you say, but it’s not. Even if it were, I’d be loath to shoot an eight-year-old when a quick Krav Mega move would suffice to disarm the little fart eater without harming him seriously. The IDF actually did more to discourage such incidents by treating the boys humanely, because they deprived the Jihadis of another Muhammed ElDura to use to stir the pot, and contradicted the narrative they depend on.
That isn’t saying that they won’t send out someone older and more lethal with a knife or gun or suicide vest. But they won’t be sending out Little Orphan Ali, at least. Because they’ve seen that it backfires. On to the next low trick.
