They had just defected to the Allies, when the Nazis had installed the Arrow Cross goons, who were a small minority amongst the Hungarian population.
There were Americans that were semi- complicit complicit with the Nazis and there are still some in the country reluctant to acknowledge it........your point? it's just wrong to blame an entire country for the hate mongering of a few, it's like believing that every German agreed with Hitler and what was being done, those that opposed were if lucky beaten, if not imprisoned or killed.
I know through family history what it was actually like in Hungary before and after the war destroyed by three different armies and abandoned by America in 1956.
The Nazis did horrible things to the Jews and many other peoples too, that can't be denied or forgotten nor should be. But tell me something, where is the proportional anger and memory of what the Japanese, Russians, Chinese and Turks have done and in some cases are still doing?
