During the first season, Star Trek Discovery was already renewed. That has not happened yet. CBS put the first episode of season 2 on YouTube for free, and left the comments turned on. The comments are almost entirely negative. It looks like CBS put the episode up to get it straight from the fans. Which makes it look like CBS does not trust the people running STD at all.

On YouTube, Overlord DVD and Midnight's Edge have covered what's going on with STD extensively. After Star Trek Enterprise, the ownership of Star Trek was split, and under the licenses the movies and TV shows have, they have to be 25% different than what came before. From what I've seen STD and the rebooted movies aren't in the same story telling universe with each other either.

The last ten years of Star Trek and Star Wars should become cases studies in how to make successful intellectual properties fail.

Midnight’s Edge is a great channel, but what’s Overlord DVD?

It can’t be a good sign for a TV series when its acronym is a sexually transmitted disease.
