"The legal counsel representing Nick and his family, Todd McMurtry and experienced libel and defamation lawyer L. Lin Wood of Atlanta, have said they will seek justice for the harm allegedly done to the teen," The Enquirer reported. "McMurtry is with the law firm of Hemmer Defrank Wessels and has practiced law in Greater Cincinnati since 1991. He said a team of seven lawyers has been working full-time to review the media accounts of what happened."
The letters come in response to the media's smearing of Sandmann after a selectively edited clip of an incident on January 19, 2019, went viral that showed Sandmann standing face-to-face with Native American Nathan Phillips, who was beating a drum in Sandmann's face.
The Enquirer added: "This week they have prepared documentation preservation letters addressed to organizations and individuals they believe may have defamed or libeled Nick with false reporting."
"They know they crossed the line," McMurtry said. "Do they want 12 people in Kentucky to decide their fate? I don't think so."

Given the incredible hype over the Covington story, you’d think the news media might consider the announcement of this list newsworthy, yet almost none of the major outlets are reporting it. The Cincinnati Inquirer published the letter on Friday including the full list. As far as I can tell, only Fox News has reported it and they waited a full three days to do so.

Not necessarily a waste of time but I’ll believe it when I see it. So far, just lots of noise that hasn’t made anyone pay for their actions towards these kids.

Yeah, the Reddit thread and a few conservative blogs and minor outlets picked it up. Now that Fox has finally reported it, I wonder if any of the other major outlets will report it I want to see the left react to the letter & list but it’s been so sparsely reported that most are probably unaware.
I’m sure they’re working on contingency. Lin Wood has been at this a while, he knows a solid payday when he sees one.
The video has been posted 4-5 times at r/The_Donald, but the mods finally woke up and stickied it. I bet it gets 10k+ upvotes.
Oh wow, when I first saw the video, it was around 5000 views. It’s now pushing towards half a million.
