more so because he doesn’t work out rather than not built for it. Many boys are thin until they choose to develop their muscles more in their teens, and I would guess a number of pro ball players were similar.

plenty of people don’t look capable of some thing until they decide to try.

Yep, they have to choose it. Our firstborn has asthma and allergies; as a young kid he was small for his age and not particularly tough. When he was in middle school his dad (football and wrestling coach at the time) began working with him in the weight room using the BFS program.

He completely bought into it and became a machine. He’s had success through hard work, not due to natural athleticism or size. Sometimes when I would see him sack the QB or throw a guy and pin him, I would remember the early years and be amazed at the transformation.
