The Battle Of Brexit: Amendments On The Table Point To The Gutting Of The Leave Vote In 2016....

As the votes on Brexit amendments loom, the anti-Brexit forces that dominate the House of Commons seem poised to hijack Brexit and destroy it and or dealy it past the "firm" March 29th date previously claimed by Prime Minister Theresa May.

The latest fear propaganda against the "No-Deal" Brexit, real Brexit as defined by "Mr. Brexit" Nigel Farage and United Kingdom Independence Party leader Gerard Batten, came from grocery-food retailers in the UK.

They claimed the "No-Deal" Brexit threatens food security and would lead to empty shelves.

McDonalds, Sainsbury's and Asda, Walmart's branch in the UK, among the retailers of food fearful of the "No-Deal" Brexit.

Speaking to a caller on the "Nigel Farage Show" Monday both Nigel Farage and the caller agreed that Prime Minister Theresa May's game throughout the whole Brexit process appears to be:

"Brexit In Name Only"

The Prime Minister wants her Conservative Party members to support an Irish backstop amendment Tuesday that is vague in its wording. The Democratic Unionist Party is deeply distressed by the deal Mrs. May wants and oppose it because it ties the north of Ireland into the south too tightly.

The vague wording of the amendment suggests there is no firm plan to satisfy Unionist objections.

In the end Speaker John Bercow will make the call on which amendments will be voted on with votes set to begin at 7 pm London time, 2 pm in the Eastern US Tuesday.

When the news came out that Teresa May lost her vote on her plan for Brixet by a stunning 230 votes, I thought her own party would fire her as Prime Minister, I got that wrong, (I am still holding, however, out on that one). I thought that there would be a vote of no-confidence, I got that right. I thought she would lose, I got that wrong. I thought that the left-wingers in the Tory party and the rest of the House of Commons would combine, if possible, to contrive another vote on Brixet, I think I got that right-we shall see and probably today.. I thought that such a vote would derail (a meaningful) Brixet, again, we shall see.

When I think of the need for Brixet I think of liberty, I think of political freedom, I think of responsive, accountable government and I think of the American Revolution.

When a left-winger looks at Brixet he sees a threatening populist revolt by unwashed Brixeters against their betters, a misguided resistance to the plain and enlightened course of history, and a coordinated, regulated economic system that gives ever larger scope to a desirable globalist worldview.

To me as a conservative, economic progress is a result of individual liberty but to a leftist, individual liberty is the enemy of economic progress.
