There is a time to make a threat, when the battlefield is a courtroom or the court of public opinion. If you go into court in a tort or especially a contracts case, and you cannot show that you made any effort to come to an arrangement, it doesn't go as well for you. The lawyers for the Covington Catholic boys made the threat, and received a number of written apologies, which can be used to get most of the rest in line. Whoever remains gets sued.

Never make a threat ... just DO IT! Especially threats that you have no intention of carry out( like all the threats about not ending the shutdown till he got border funding).
How does President Trump expect anyone to taken him seriously when he keeps caving to the likes of Pelosi?
