According to NPR, most Hispanics support President Donald John Trump. His job approval is +4 among Hispanics, while it is -10 among whites and -76 among black people.
The poll was conducted last weekend. It showed a 37-point gain for the president among Hispanics in two months.
The NPR poll consistently shows President Trump has a low job approval. He was minus 11 in the first one in February 2017. Two years later, he is minus 14. So his low numbers overall are not news.
But going from minus 33 among Hispanic voters to plus 4 in two months is huge news, especially when the media assumed that the wall was racist and turning off Hispanic voters.
Media-ite delved into the NPR poll to find this nugget.
Media-ite reported, "The January poll was conducted during the government shutdown over border wall funding, most notably. So the big swing among Latinos was while Trump and Democrats faced off over funding for the wall."
Glenn Reynolds observed, "Well, that’s a shock all right. I wonder what the Democrats’ internal polls show. They haven’t been acting like they think this shutdown thing is a winner for them, but wow. Or else this is an outlier, but if so it’s a big outlier."
One explanation is that legal immigrants resent line jumping illegal aliens.
Another explanation is that Hispanics are more likely to be victims of MS-13 rapists, muggers, and murderers.
Another explanation is that Democrats take Hispanics for granted and let them down.
Finally, President Trump is making America great again. Hispanic employment is at an all-time high.
Whatever the reason, this development is news.
Someone should tell NPR to read its own poll.
Bush League Republicans have been lying to us for decades, telling us we had to pander to Hispanics with amnesty to get them to like us.
BS, Hispanics want border security and enforcement just like all US citizens.
Same reason that limiting union membership (the candidates for which are mostly white) drives (mostly white) union members to support a given union head. Membership in any given organization, including a nation state, becomes more valuable with scarcity. I expect Hispanics understand that fewer new immigrants helps drive their wages up, and lessens the competition for management slots.
An NPR poll? Who believes an NPR poll? I think just about all polls are guesses, at best. The only poll I really pay attention to is Rasmussen.
For years Rats have believed that ALL Hispanics are pro-illegal immigration. Just like they believe that all blacks are liberals and need their help to succeed.
Ok-Is it or is it not true? If it is true then it’s over for the Democrats and they will know it. Only thing left for them to do is riot.
Hispanics are hardest hit by the crime from illegals, illegals who are already law breakers tend to “hide out” in Hispanic heavy neighborhoods. Legal and multigenerational citizen Hispanics are pissed off the problemd are ignored by Rino’s and Dems.

But if you look carefully at the results you’ll notice the black vote went the other way by almost the same amount.
So maybe the difference is just normal margin of error variability and not significant. But who knows. Guess there’s always another poll to see if there’s anything to it.

So, Trump, who has seen the best employment of black people since slavery (when it was 100%, right?), has a 76% against, 24% for approval rating of black people?

My wife is a legal Mexican immigrant, a software engineer educated in our universities. It took her brother 17 years to become a United States citizen. She does not like those that jump to the head of the line by crossing the border illegally.

Why is Trump so low among white voters? He won them by 21 points and now he is down 10? That’s a 31 point swing.
I’m noticing white people are getting dumber.
Trump needs to make a solid point that if border walls are immoral like Nanzi says they are,
Nanzi has just called Mexico, immoral.
And all the other central american countries that have their own border walls, many do, immoral.
She needs to be hammered on this.
Then mention Nanzi’s massive walls around her multiple homes. Nanzi herself by her own words and standards and beliefs, is also immoral. She has judged most central american countries as immoral, and she has judged herself as being immoral.
Defund this monster.

Surprising thing is that this happens in the face of unrelenting, vicious attacks by the likes of Univision and their ilk
