The Champs-Elysees will be the main site of protest in Paris from 10am to 5pm Saturday (4am to 11am Eastern time US) with some Yellow Vests set to march to the Palace de la Bourse in the middle of the day.
There is a march in the afternoon from Paris City Hall to the area of the National Assembly where a response will be read to President Emmanuel Macron's speech denouncing "hate" coming from the Yellow Vests and promising order "without compromise" on New Year's Eve.
BFM-TV reported at mid-day Friday that 10-thousand had expressed interest on Facebook in the Paris protests.
The arrest of protest figure Eric Drouet has aroused the protest movement and there may be a bit of regeneration tomorrow.
Police are mobilized in usual formations with usual tactics including plans to intercept, search and arrest incoming protesters with mobile units.
Other cities in France where protests are announced are Toulouse, Toulon, La Rochelle, Bordeaux, Lille and Strasbourg.
Time scheduled protests? Has the movement lost its spontaneity or was it really never a true grass roots movement in the first place?
Think about it. The same thing happened to the Tea Party.
The Tea Party was defeated by Obamas goons, the Media, and the weaponized IRS. Still, they elected an anti-Obama Congress that did limit the damage he did. It wrecked Sarah Palin (whom they thought was a Tea Party leader) In many ways Trump is the revenge of the Tea Party. Remember when Nancy P. said she was spat upon and insulted? Yet, no news cameras caught such an action. I went to many Tea Party rallies—the place would be filled with American Flags—One guy we never saw before would show up with a CSA Confederate flag and a sign that read “impeach Obama” and the newspapers would take his picture for the front page! I think it was a democrat plant. The French Aristocrat-powers might try the same thing.
‘The Tea Party was defeated’ - they sure thought so. I see Trump’s winning, Brits (outside of London) and other Europeans loving Trump, Yellow Vests flexing their muscles, Tommy Robinson (suddenly) getting sprung OUT of jail, Nigel Farage, Brexit, Blexit — all built on the Tea Party and yes, Sarah Palin. It’s like watching a very slow domino effect as folks come out of the fog worldwide.
These protests have been going on for 2 months now, every week ... that’s not “fading out”, that’s “staying there”
Obviously, Macron has a real revolt on his hands ... as if that wasn’t obvious from his increasingly-erratic comments
This guy is desperate and is going down ... you cannot survive in a democracy if you’ve lost the citizenry
