I’ve caught the show a few times - there’s a big price range depending on the clients, but I’ve seen some pretty nice ones. None as big as Fat Boy’s, of course.

The images of the interiors of these log homes were lit up by the TV lights. In actuality, normal interior lighting would be sucked up by the non reflective characteristics of wood. The natural window light would be of no use on a cloudy day. In those wood boxes I would feel as if I was in a tomb. For the exorbitant cost of them, I would avoid them like the plague.

It questions the mentality of Moore. If I had all the money he had, I would never put a log house on my list. I heard that his ex-wife put a lot of money in that house to update it. I think it is a waste of money to update a log house. If you want to modify a room, removing a wall and adding them becomes a costly logging experience. Too many of them are simply bad design, poorly thought out and because log homes don’t have conventional wood-stud walls and insulation, they often don’t satisfy building code energy standards that require prescribed insulation R-values.

The more I think of it, Moore was nuts to buy that log tomb. Maybe it is the indication of his real mentality.
