How would you deem the assault as presented?
I’ve looked at the video several times.
First, the clerk was out of control. Besides the yelling and screaming at the guy, it appears he attempted to hit the customer or did hit the customer and try to knock the camera out of the customer’s hands. He repeats this action later in the video.
Meanwhile, the Trump supporter was just egging the guy on verbally. He realized this clerk wasn’t rational and was just hoping to either get a good video or cause the clerk to do something that would give him (customer) something actionable.
There’s enough blame to go around on this one, but I don’t know if Georgia law defines political opinion as a “protected class”. If so, the clerk is wrong and the owner of the business has a real mess on his hands.
If not, then the owner of the business has a terrible public relations problem to deal with.
The clerk...has some very disturbing mental issues that should be addressed.
