While the French President Emmanuel Macron sits with a 23 percent approval rating, the Yellow Vests have a much higher approval rating.
An Elabe Institute poll for BFM-TV in France shows 70 percent approval for Yellow Vests with 54 percent favoring continuation of the protests.
Police slowed down their work in France on Wednesday to apply pressure on the government to pay the massive amount of overtime they have accumulated which totals over 20 million hours.
Union representatives met with the Interior Minister Christophe Castaner who countered with an offer of bonus payments in lieu of overtime ranging from 200 euros to 400 euros.
Late Wednesday night both sides reached agreement on a memorandum of understanding.
"We got tonight a real advance"
was the response of a police union leader Yves Lefebvre.
Salaries for police will be raised 120-150 euros per month depending on officer rank. Master allowances of 40 euros are being granted at the beginning of 2019.
The issue of back overtime pay will be addressed in future negotiations.
Also late news that a new public opinion poll shows Macron at 27 percent approval with 72 percent disapproval.

What stopped you from posting the whole thing?
Macron and his knobby kneed wife had better be packing their bags.
I hope the yellow vests run the socialists of France out, clear to the Danube.

Sorry it upsets you.
During this season of joy and goodwill, it’s good to not sweat the small things.
It’s probably good not to be pimping blogs either.
Little hope hope that. Socialism is engrained in many of the Yellow Vest lists of demands that Ive seen.
Hope of that
It is a difficult thing to govern any nation when approval ratings get in the tank. This is not just partisan spite, this is a whole-hearted and vigorous abrogation of Macron’s right to even exercise his authority.
It is fast approaching the kind of resistance that has overtaken Venezuela, but people are not yet fleeing the country, because the police have joined in the “yellow-vest” protest. In Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro imported an elite cadre of civil guards from Cuba to keep a semblance of order, to go around that possible line of resistance, but the situation has already degenerated much further, and may yet result in a truly bloody insurrection that cannot be contained.
France is nowhere near that level yet, but there is historic precedent for such action across their nation, as it changed from a royal dictatorship to an early version of “people’s rule” mobocracy, to the imperial militaristic dictatorship of Napoleon, the restoration of the royalty, and the establishment of the Republic.
I haven't paid much attention to these protests because I really don't take the people of France seriously at all.
It’s probably also not a good idea to air your sexual fetish on public forums all the time like you do, mumblebumbler, but there you are.
Projection (Psychological)
1) An unconscious self-defence mechanism characterised by a person unconsciously attributing their own issues onto someone or something else as a form of delusion and denial.
2) A way to blame others for your own negative thoughts by repressing them and then attributing them to someone else. Due to the sorrowful nature of delusion and denial it is very difficult for the target to be able to clarify the reality of the situation.
3) A way to transfer guilt for your own thoughts, emotions and actions onto another as a way of not admitting your guilt to yourself.
There is no projection of you babbling on about pimps. Your obsession with sex gets really old.
I think you may be confused, bless your little heart.
Nope.
All that pimps, bitches, hos stuff - sexual, and inappropriate.
It will probably irk you to know that there are only two sexes as well.
The yellow vests are going to run themselves out of France???? Is that like lemmings running over a cliff?
