I like all kinds of sardines, canned or freshly grilled. For canned, try smoked "Riga Sprats" which are also canned in places other than Latvia (but not called "Riga").

For fresh, I like them gutted, grilled over flame on a stick or skewer. Head on, eat that too.

You can take one sardine...and mix with onions, garlic, and some spices...like pepper, salt..some cayenne..Grind it up into a slurry add a stick of butter..whip that up And you have Compounded butter....

Take that compounded butter...and spread it over a already cooked steak...then melt that butter over the steak...

IT has a good taste...and you cannot taste fish at all.
