Moronic. So we are storing nuclear waste in a manner that a wildfire can release it into the atmosphere now?
Moronic. The thought process and fake news fear mongering.
>> According to RT <<
ok
Demand Jerry Brown move his family to the site for one month to prove all is well
As much as the left hates nuclear, why are they silent about this?
OK, I feel better now....
Doing a little wiki reading about that site, WOW. I wonder if burning some of that stuff releases it to the atmosphere. Bad juju.
That isn’t it, go read wikipedia.
Why have I never heard of this site and previous accident?
This will become a "fact" as it is repeated ad naseum. So far it is only speculation.
It was a gubmint owned, contracter operated site, mum’s the word. Easy to sweep under the carpet when most research is classified.
This story was on one of the major local stations the other day. Probably NBC 4 news. So its not being ignored.
If this country would adopt Thorium energy like they should have (and could have) decades ago, this would never be a problem. Nor would the cost or supply of energy be a problem either.
Unfortunately, it takes unforeseen calamities like this to get people to wake up.
As “progressive” as these ultra liberals like to pass themselves off as, they are largely dinosaurs in their thinking
Now just think about the years of spent fuel stored at a nuclear power sit. What could go wrong?
It was mentioned on NBC Nightly News earlier this week.
Manmade nuclear waste byproducts: The gift that keeps on giving. In a couple of million years the nuke waste will have decayed away. Given enough time, nothing to worry about.
Wasn’t this the cleanup site they covered a part over to make a hiking/running park but you have to sign a waiver to visit there? Here’s a 2016 article about it:
https://www.enviroreporter.com/2016/08/protest-of-boeing-santa-susana-field-lab-tour-leads-to-potential-discovery-of-new-contamination/
This was molten salt reactor meltdown.
There was also a famous actor’s child who got radiation poisoning as civilization (housing, film studios, etc) encroached on this nuke waste site and sued plus took up the cause of nuke waste dangers.
This was a test site for Rocketdyne shuttle engines. In the hills between Los Angeles County & Ventura County, between Chatsworth & Simi Valley. Near Box Canyon.
I lived in So Calif for over 29 years.
I could see the glow from these tests, and on quiet nights, could also hear the roar, from my house in the SFV.
They were testing rocket ENGINES-—NOTHING nuclear. I know people who worked there. NEVER a word about anything nuclear.
The various propellants for rocket engines are pretty tricky, but NOT nuclear.
IF it is a Superfund site, it is because of the propellants being tested-—nothing nuclear.
Is it possible the entire ztai of California could burn?
God I hope not. What will we do without our ztai?
