This isn’t really kosher. It’s a centennial on top of it all. Just what WWI needs. To be forgotten again.

I don’t buy the “M1 can’t fly in rain”; if not, that is piss poor.

So you think Trump doesn’t care about the troops after all he’s done for them?

You don’t think the Secret Service might have done this for the security of the President?

You don’t care about the security of POTUS?

"I don’t buy the “M1 can’t fly in rain”; if not, that is piss poor."

From Avion Insurance:

"Rain, snow, sleet, and fog may not affect helicopter performance, but they generally obstruct visibility. These conditions may make take-off and landing more difficult and affect a pilot’s ability to see obstacles that are encountered during flight. Rain, snow, and sleet may also make conditions on the tarmac or landing pad slippery, which can be problematic."

The Secret Service--not the President--determines when it's safe to fly Marine One.

I agree. I hope there waS a real reason other than rain. It’s a public relations nightmare.
You can fly 3000 miles but not make the last 50. Secret service get weather reports and contingency plans would have been made. Our dead soldiers deserved better.

It wasn't “rain” but a storm, and fog. And it wasn't the president's decision, but the decision of his staff and the pilots.

as a doctor, I know that air evac helicopters crash now and then (and worry about my son in law who flies one).

and sometimes they just can't land at your heliport...so you have to take them out by regular ambulance or to an airport for fixed wing air evac.

Once the weather was marginal, we had to use an ambulance to take a patient, a baby whose loving pot-head father had bashed his head against the wall for crying, to the nearest airport (30 miles) for a fixed wing plane to fly the patient another 100 miles to a major hospital neurosurgery.
