A planned Student Gun Violence Summit held in Washington, D.C. over the weekend has generated a proposal geared towards extensive gun control ideas.
The summit was designed to merge existing plans to reduce gun violence and merge them into a single Students Bill of Rights, after a weekend conference. The group, a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt social welfare organization, was formed by Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School teacher Melissa Falkowski, along with Jami Amo, a survivor of the Columbine shooting; and Abbey Clements, a teacher from Sandy Hook Elementary School.
The summit was sponsored with the assistance of several national gun control groups such as the Brady Campaign, Everytown, and Giffords, as well as the backing of the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association. About 100 people attended the event to craft the proposal, according to Bloomberg-financed the74.com. The final product is a 14-point call to action that begins with establishing school safety committees, expanding access to counselors and addressing mental health problems on campus and then moves quickly into steps to ramp up regulations on guns and the industry that produces, sells and markets them.
First, the proposal calls for a requirement that all gun dealers, sellers, and owners report stolen guns and ban the sale of semi-automatic military-style weapons that fire velocity rounds and bump stocks by prohibiting them under the National Firearms Act. Next would be a universal database of gun sales, followed by mandatory gun waiting periods, universal background checks and a bump in the minimum age to buy firearms from 18 to 21.
Additionally, the measure seeks to regulate gun ownership and possession in a way akin to drivers licenses for cars while spending federal dollars on funding government research on guns. Finally, the bill of rights would expand mandatory gun seizures for those who pose a heightened risk to community safety by implementing so-called red flag laws that could be requested by a wide range of petitioners to include former intimate partners, such as ex-girlfriends.
Circulated by The Action Network, the proposal had 11 signatures collected as of Monday morning.
Social Justice Warriors Manifesto: Student Bill of Rights
This Ping List is for all things pertaining to the 2nd Amendment.
FReepmail me if you want to be added to or deleted from the list.

There is only one teensy weensy little problem, the constitution.
I voted for my student government to lobby on my behalf of my university for better education and facilities.
They have no charter to implement a student manifesto nationwide nor lobby for student rights with the government. Ill do that with my actual government representatives thank you.
(No Im not a student but I did take part in student government elections)
This growing fascism needs to be put down with a strong boot.
Doe anyone else see what I see?
Good. None of my firearms fire velocity rounds. Just plain old bullets.
Anybody have a definitive definition of ‘velocity round?’ Every round I fire, no matter the weapon of caliber, has velocity. That’s how the round gets from here to there.
We need to ban all of those automatic black guns. It’s all their fault :)
If you want to bump the age to buy firearms then lets begin with repealing the 26th amendment.
They come for our guns, they deserve what happens.
Student have the right to attend schools in gun free zones;
Students have the right to have safe rooms were they can hide from shooters or anything that makes them feel bad or afraid;
Students have the right to have warm milk, petting puppies, as well as crying rooms set aside for them in case of emergency;
Student in gun free zones have the right to expect to be shot by a fellow classmate;
Surviving students have the right after being shot buy a fellow classmate to sue the parents of that shooter ... and so on.
Of course, ANYONE who owns a gun would have to be adjudicated a risk to community safety..."
ha ha - students’ bill of rights
Many of them already have unlimited sex, drugs, alcohol while their parents pay their college tuition, room and board, cable, cell phone, on and on.
Wait till they graduate and the real world slaps them in the face.
Anti-gun-nuts might just deserve the harm they bring to themselves in their zealous mission to prevent self protection using the one great equalizer; the small arms available to all legal citizens without a felony or mental health issue.
Hey, since all dems have a known (science settled) mental health issue, shouldn't they be prohibited from owning any firearms or have access to them in any way?
Per the definition of a “right”, it exists stand-alone and neither requires nor permits infringement upon someone else’s rights. There is no “right” to a gun-free, violence-free or evil-free life. One must live with courage, alertness and common sense if one wants such a life.
Yup. Confiscation through “red flag warnings” that can be issued by anyone (and I bet, for any reason).
No. What they are doing is living out the theories taught them during their whole life of schooling by teachers paid by our taxes, all members of AFT or NEA Marxist societies. And unless something changes in the thinking of the university Education Departments, this slew of domineering manic socialists is going to preside over your funeral, your children, and the death of your ideas of how to live free.
Leeches, all of them, sucking your very life blood.
Yep, they are demanding a RIGHT to NOT be able to purchase a gun, as if that makes any sense.
Wouldn't this be like demanding the RIGHT to NOT be able to get an abortion, yet libs don't do that.
Until then...do your homework and clean up your room!
