Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's plea deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team is a sign that he has some "very helpful information" for the ongoing Russia probe, onetime Independent Counsel Ken Starr said Sunday.
And Norman Eisen, who served as White House Special Counsel for Ethics and Government Reform in the Obama administration, flatly predicted that President Trump wouldn't "survive" Manafort's testimony.
Manafort pleaded guilty in his Washington, D.C., trial on Friday and agreed to fully cooperate with federal officials looking into the possibility of illegal cooperation between President Trump's campaign and the Russian government, although none of Manafort's charges directly related to any alleged collusion.
Joined by Eisen, Starr told ABC's "This Week" that the news was a "very significant breakthrough."
"I think this is really good for the country," Starr, who led federal probes into former President Bill Clinton, told host Jon Karl, suggesting that the deal might help bring an end to the long-running Russia probe. "Let’s get to the truth of the matter.”(continued)

How ridiculous. If Manafort had something on Trump he would have given it up long ago. Does anyone really think that Manafort would have gone to prison and solitary confinement out of loyalty to Trump?
Manafort and Trump despised each other and to save himself he would have been singing like a bird.
Manafort may spill some beans that dems won’t like and if I were Tony Podesta I would be losing sleep.

I think it would be foolish not to conclude that mueller is building a case against Trump. Between cohen’s plea with a miss-directing statement implicating Trump in a non-criminal campaign fiance violation. And manaford’s treatment that finally resulted in a plea deal. What’s worse, it will have nothing to due with Russia or the campaign. This was a witch hunt from the git-go. Whether or not it is enough to impeach Trump is really not the issue. the issue is they will use it to further damage Trump and prevent his re-election. On a positive note, I think that Trump will still play an important roll in elections to come once he is out of office. obumber has set the presidency and Trump will always be able to draw a crowd and set the agenda.
Remember Cohen was going to get POTUS impeached according to Starr, too.
If Mueller is on a witch hunt, he wouldn’t give a deal to Manafort unless it would let him “get Trump”.
If Mueller is an honest investigator who wants all the facts, he’d give a deal for more facts regardless of how those facts implicate Trump.
It’s pretty obvious a lot on the left think Mueller is on a witch hunt, not an honest investigator.
