I was assigned as “coach” for a new employee. He was a Filipino. Actually a nice guy. His wife was from the same village as he was.
Their Son was giving him a lot of trouble. Involved with the wrong people etc. I suggested maybe he could move back to the Philippines as he was from way out in the sticks.
He told me he wanted to and he could live like a king there on his Navy retirement. Unfortunately his wife would not agree. I asked him who was the boss in his family.
He said she had become Americanized really quickly.
