that’s what I am thinking. I felt that way with George Ryan but voted for the mutt anyway.

At least with the RAT you know that the scorpion will always sting.

They must be proud of their murder rate courtesy of their Marxist Liberal politicians, ya think?

None so blind as those who will not see.

We will have Pritzker as Governor.

Highest taxes in the country he proposes big income tax increases.

Yes, might as well, rather than allow being fooled into believing that a swamp RINO, Never Trumper, will do the right things.

Aren’t these the same folks that shoot each other in the streets at a record pace? Good indication of a cro-magnon I.Q. And besides voting, they also breed. Scary, ain’t it?

I am a little curious about why the Illinois part of the Quad Cities area (Moline and Rock Island) went blue (one of the few areas outside of Chicago to do so)? Is it due to the number of union people there because of in turn John Deere’s headquarters being there or are there other factors?

The tribune and the teachers union are very strong in Illinois. And they are very very pro-government employee. They are taking this state down hard. Lots of people have lots of pensions, some two or three. And some, you would not expect to have a pension, only working a few years but getting two and three times the credit of a normal employee.

Illinois is also losing citizens faster than any other state. And its those citizens that are mostly pro-Trump. Like a sauce on the boil, it gets stronger the longer you leave it on the stove. As does the anti-Trump feeling grow stronger as people flee the state.

Remember Illinois is Chicago. A recent governor won the race by losing every county in Illinois except for Cook County where Chicago is located. So the state is still pretty Rino republican. But the city very democrat and its 45% black. Whoever gets that vote wins the state.

From what I’ve read the speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives, Mike Madigan controls everything in Illinois. If he wants legislation to pass it passes, and vice versa. He is the true obstacle to changing anything in Illinois. His daughter Lisa is also Attorney General.

You’re probably thinking of Lake County, which includes all the rich North Shore suburbs. Those folks are mostly nominally Republican, but mushy on social issues and not big Trump fans, in my experience.

For those playing along at home - here is a pointer: States cannot file bankruptcy. Municipalities and agencies of the state can file, but not states themselves. They are not eligible to be debtors under Chapter 9 of of the Bankruptcy Code.

When the crisis in Puerto Rico was being addressed in proposed legislation, Congress considered amending the Bankruptcy Code to allow territories to access Chapter 9. Democrats added amendments that would open it to "states or territories", and it was clear they were throwing a bone to President Obama's home state, and other Democrat fiefdoms. Bankruptcy reform efforts failed, but Congress was able to pass the PROMESA legislation which offered a Chapter 9-like process to Puerto Rico, without opening the door to Illinois, CT and CA.

We might note the source of Hillary popular votes in the 2016 election and realize that "East and West Coast people" were the principal source of her support--and that support was from dense Liberal/Progresssive populations in cities on those "coasts and elsewhere."

Thomas Jefferson, the Author of our Declaration of Independence, made interesting observations on the effect of "cities" on the minds of their populations.

"I think our governments will remain virtuous for many centuries; as long as they are chiefly agricultural; and this will be as long as there shall be vacant lands in any part of America. When they get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, they will become corrupt as in Europe." - Thomas Jefferson

He could not do it without control of the teachers and other government unions and the press.

Illinois’ unemployment rate at the end of 2016: 6.4%
Illinois’ unemployment rate, June 2018: 4.3%

You’re welcome, filthy ingrates.

“Too big to fail”

Don’t bet on this. It WILL fail. The numbers show it to be inevitable, and it will happen hopefully in a Trump or Pence administration. I won’t be paying for it.

“Say no more. CHICAGO”

You misspelled the name of that large city in Illinois. There are two (2) permissible spellings, to wit:

1) Shitcago; or

2) Chicongo.

Take your pick.

Rock Island County is union and part of the quad cities metropolitan area. More citified. Also, some colleges including Augustana. Similar voting outcome as Scott County Iowa across the river. Peoria is Caterpillar and Bradley University. Champagne is University of Illinois. Carbondale is Southern Illinois University. East St. Louis is ghettoish....not to put to fine a point on it.

Unless their state constitutions prohibit the state declaring bankruptcy. NYS’s does.
