Why is the plant not bending over backwards to accomodate the white workers?
I have a friend who is a house painter.
In a sea of “Spanish” workers he has had a very hard time bidding jobs. Mostly out of work in recent years. Struggling to “fit in”. Spent the winter on my boat.
Hahahahahaha!
A *vast* majority of the layoffs were 50+ white males, in a much greater proportion than the working population at the time. I lasted until late 2012, almost a full term of Obama as he proceeded to gut the military and any support of it. Had two defense contractor positions lined up a month or so after my layoff, then Obama and sequestration hit. That company's listings went from about 70 open positions to 3, all in their finance department!
This country has a lot of race bias, sex bias, political bias, and age bias despite the so-called diversity training. The latter was a subtle way for employers to move aging white males out of the workforce because, well, they're the most likely to be bigots, sexists, homophobes, etc. At least that's what I glean from the several hours of training I was required to take over the years. Funny thing: no one ever claimed I was any of those things. Quite the opposite, actually. But that didn't stop me from losing my 30 year career because of a "numbers" game.

Yeah, it was supposed to be. Instead, I get lectured about it occasionally, usually when I submit a post someone disagrees with strongly. I thought about changing it, but it’s been over 17 years now.
nothing new. the elite leftists have been (mis-)using “cheap labor” to make big profits on the backs of American workers for a long time in this country.
40 plus years ago, my mom was a Japanese trained tailor who had occasion to work among illegals. they were vicious and jealous of the Americans, especially my mom when she out smarted and out worked them for no other reason than she was just much more efficient and faster at the task of piecework sewing (she could do a lot more than that of course). the faster they went, the more mistakes they made, so they had to go slow. my mom, well, lets just say there were rarely any mistakes, and she just blazed through any sewing job at hand.
of course, every time “la migra” was about to show up, the factory would magically empty out—except for the few American workers left who then had to take up even more of the slack for the illegal slackers.
Yep, they are vindictive and jealous. They will attack Hispanic law enforcement as Uncle Toms (but the Spanish equivalent) and will stick to their own.
Mexicans of Spanish decent ARE White Europeans.
The word is that DHS and the FBI have done a count of illegals currently in the country — and they came up with 44 million.
I believe it. We the taxpayers are paying for the vast majority and apparently will at least three generations in. (No real data for projecting beyond that, but they are the first immigrant group to do worse here in subsequent generations.)
Our workplace is tremendously bi-lingual. Once I worked with a person who was removed for safety reasons to another department.
I joked that she would only be allowed to speak Vietnamese in that department as she was Spanish speaking. Her language skills were good and she spoke in English to Catholic Vietnamese.
The time line for this story is flawed. Ten years ago the break room became tremendously quiet. Texting in your native language requires concentration. Assimilation as a goal without any total immersion is impossible. There was a period of time before cell phones when English language skills were better for non-Native Americans. Some of the bi-lingual Spanish speakers are really astute.
The standard language for Safety Training is English—the only commonality.
Yeah. American workers in said situations need to contact ICE.
ICE needs to make a provision so as not to get said American employees in trouble with there employers for doing so.
Spain was captured by Islam and is a blend of European/North African.
