I and all my friends are NRA members.

We practice all the time.

But bunches of guys who are good with rifles are not an army. We would not last five minutes against a USMC rifle company.

If there is a war, your 55 million man army will not be fighting “liberals”.

Explain Afghanistan to me then. Or Iraq. Or Vietnam.

Problem is the actual size of our military. Some 475,000 in the Army of which the bulk are support people, not front line soldiers. Some 100,000 Marines , and while the attitude is ‘every Marine is a shooter’ the reality is there are still a significant portion that is support. Not near enough people in the active military to put down a revolt. So you would have to call up the reserves, and that becomes highly problematic. Who would they fight fo4, the government that has become insulated from mainstream America, or would they form up units and fight against the government and it’s supporters.

That is the problem, not the skinny jeans brigade.

The Americans that maintain & supply the blood of this country -food, water, power - are not liberals and could wage war by Not moving a finger.

One of the lessons from the sandbox wars is that urban guerrilla warfare is very costly to the assaulting force. Three guys can tie up a company for most of a morning. Properly conducted counter attacks will render the assault force ineffective in many cases.

How many USMC rifle companies are there? Not enough, when spread out across the US. How long would the Marines last if the people who supply them with food, pay, and supplies were targeted for assassination? In a true civil war, ANYBODY supporting or supplying the enemy side would be a target. Not just uniformed troops, but the little old ladies handling the supply invoices too.

A true civil war would be a war of Left versus Right, and would be fought in the neighborhoods. The loud Leftist activist would be hunted down, his house set on fire at 3am, with he and his family being gunned down as they tried to get out.

In 1776 the world's number one power was england, both army and navy, and a bunch of guys, that were good with single shot muzzle loaded rifles, became an army and kicked their ass.

Will and determination dominate in a guerilla conflict {and I don't believe that our military will fight against the "people"}.

I hope the U.S. military still trains recruits not to obey illegal orders.

But you wouldn’t be fighting a US rifle company. Or, if it came to pass, how many Marines would join the Conservative side?

There’s another thing; I’ll bet you and your buddies are AT LEAST as trained as the regulars of Vietnam, Iraq or Iran. An armed, homegrown force isn’t easily defeated especially when no one would lobbing MOABs at you.

Aside from the entire point from this
post being conservatives vs liberals,
a large number of NRA members were in
the military at one time.
If a civil war were to break out,
which side or position would the
government take?
Japan was a well trained military
force, but we’re hesitant about
attacking the US mainland.
There was (and still is) a reason
for that.

The rot from social perversions and neo-socialism has invaded every institution including the various types and shadows of the Navy as well as other branches. Because of the bizarre political and social situation, cohesiveness is more tenuous than it appears to be, even from within ranks.

American men, including the many who have served, are not equivalent to gangs of third world monkeys. A very few prior servicemen do broadcast leftism loudly and often so as to appear to be more numerous, but they are rare and odd indeed.

And moving manufacturing shops overseas for a few decades did not remove ingenuity from western culture men. The laziness that we’ve seen is only a temporary result of our business, academic and political leaders giving their jobs to foreign, communist enemies for a while. And...of the fatherlessness inflicted on them. Many of them have begun to listen and awaken.

The following headline and article generalized too much, because not all of the wealthy are paranoid liberal lefties who plot against us. Many of them support our President’s Administration, for example. But the article reveals a few very interesting facts that were heretofore hidden.

Survival of the richest: The wealthy are plotting to leave us behind

There’s weakness, and in their fantastic, hypothetical imaginings, even they don’t expect their political influence over the various departments to protect them unconditionally.

But that's the whole point. Many of the U.S. Marines in those rifle companies would remain loyal to our side, integrate into the Patriot Army, and end up commanding and fighting against the forces of Tyranny.

So the "liberals" won't be fighting a bunch of weekend warriors, no matter how you slice it. They'll be fighting trained soldiers—including U.S. Marines, Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans—both in terms of the general soldiery and the command structure...
