WASHINGTON, D.C. In the small lobby at the entrance of the home clubhouse at Nationals Park, Josh Hader, still in his All-Star Game uniform, sat in a puffy chair, his head tilted down, his eyes fixed on his phones screen, his thumbs the only thing moving. They swiped up, left thumb then right thumb, left then right, left then right, for a minute, then two, then three, before a security guard closed the door and cocooned Hader from the throng waiting outside to ask if he was a racist, sexist, bigoted homophobe. Outside the clubhouse, about 15 feet away, stood Haders family, a dozen of whom had been wearing jerseys featuring the Milwaukee Brewers star relievers No. 71. One by one, they had peeled off the shirts. Some were handed National League All-Star jerseys with no name or number on the back. One man, wearing a navy-blue Hader shirsey, took it off, turned it inside out and put it back on, the tag sticking out from the neckline. The group ascended a ramp and stepped onto a bus for players families, an anticlimax to what was supposed to be a celebratory night.

He should have used the “I was hacked. Ok, I was not hacked, but I do not remember making these posts at all” defense. Seems to work well for media types and is better than the Roseanne Barr “ambien” defense (though I’m sure that defense would work so long as you were pissing off the proper politicians).
Twitter leaves another broken career in its wake. People get on twitter and somehow their internal monologue goes away, they just say whatever nonsense pops into their head that they think is funny or ironic or profound in that moment. Most of it is pointless nonsense. But if you are into, say, rap culture at that moment, there’s a good chance you might mimic one of them. And boom, years later your career is over.
I...I.....damn.
DON’T BE STUPID ON TWITTER, FOLKS........
More than John Rocker.
The worst of the stuff, at least that I saw, just looks like he was quoting rap lyrics...
Looked the same to me. If he was not directly quoting hip-hop lyrics (like I would know), he sounded like he was speaking in a rap vernacular.
From what Ive read sounds like his teammates have moved on and have no problem with him..
This was from when he was 17. The people who pretend they’re offended at this are the some ones trying to convince you to let 16-year-olds vote. :)
I think I will care when this expanded #MeToo movement goes after Byrd, or any other of the numerous Southern Democrats who said/did much worse. Pop Culture promotes these words, and are then shocked when imitated by the very people they try to influence.
Can someone post the tweets in full or a link that shows them as he posted them?
Racism, the mortal sin of society. Abortion, a pat on the back.
I...I.....damn.
DONT BE ON TWITTER, FOLKS........
Fixed it!
Ah, to be young and stupid. You’ll pay for it the rest of your life.

He was 17! He was immature. As he said, he’s not that person anymore.
But MLB doesn’t care. In the pursuit of political correctness it is making Hader undergo sensitivity training.
“He was 17! He was immature. As he said, hes not that person anymore.”

This is complete,utter madness.
Robert Byrd could “evolve” from racist activism in his middle years yet they are crucifying this young man for teen age comments.
The country has become unrecognizable.
.
He’s now 24, BTW, and pitching well enough to be an All-Star.
Yep, your version is safer.
