Eduard Benays was an early master of public opinion formation. He published numerous books on the dark secrets of his craft. He was an employee of tobacco interests in the 1920s, when large cities had outlawed women smoking in public. He created some of the original Astro-Turf, phoney political movements, with fringe elements of the otherwise upstanding Suffragette Movement, staging phoney public relations "spontaneous demonstrations" of women lighting up in public called "Torches of Freedom" (Virginia Slims, You've Come a Long Way Baby). His wife died of smoking-related complications.

How does it come about that the Catholic Bishops are so hand-wringingly COMPASSIONATE about migrants?

But they have nothing to say about home-born African-Americans who are shut out by endless waves of hungry migrants.

Don’t say “brainwashing”.
