There is no one perfect caliber for deer. Each caliber has advantages and disadvantages depending on the deer being hunted and the terrain presented. A .270, 7 mm, .308, or ‘06 is a versatile gun that will give acceptable performance in all cases. There might be a better, more specialized gun for each situation but the guns listed above would be more than adequate in every situation.
You can’t go wrong with 30-06.
You can download it to .243 territory with a 125-grain bullet or near 300 Winchester Magnum range.
Plus 30-06 ammo is available anywhere.
Government employees...............the same all over the world........They are even interchangeable.................
We have wild boar on Eglin, AFB that are a threat to native plants some are endangered themselves. But the government won’t allow hunting the wild hogs out of state season...............
Yep. In the thick woods of northern Michigan I still use my brush-busting 30-06. When I hunted out in Kansas and North Dakota I was using a 270.
Ditto that!
There ya go!!
I use old school now...Rocket broad heads!!
