Trump is right. Germany pays Russia billions of dollars for oil and gas, which Russia spends improving its very well equipped new military. So Germany wants the US to provide defense against a possible aggressor, whose armed forces are all but funded by Germany?

Why do we buy oil and subsidize Saudi Arabia when they have terrorist training grounds and provided a base for the 9/11 terrorists?

As I mentioned earlier, Russia is a two fold issue. Enriched, they can and could be a problem to Western Europe. Broke, they may be an even bigger threat because they are desperate.
