President Trump’s executive order is to reunite the children with their parents. Media information on the Progress of reunification with detained parents has been portrayed as chaotic. All I get is information five days old, which says only 500 kids have been reunified. I am getting the impression that there is a news black-out so they can grind their axes on the unification issue and act as if President Trump’s Executive Order did not happen.
He demonstrates the problem well. Liberals view the children smuggled across the border as “f***ing children.” That’s the type of children they view them as. Not playing children, learning children, nor happy children. They want them returned to the child traffickers, so they can go on being “f***ing children.”
Someone needs to start a go-fund-me to build family housing near the locations immigrants can request asylum IN MEXICO. These facilities can be as nice as the funders want (and without taking US tax dollars that could go to education, welfare, medical care or other service for US citizens). How much is Legend willing to pony up to house these families while they await and answer? If nothing else, permanently rent a floor of a hotel near the US embassy for families to stay while they wait. Even with transportation and food it’s not a prohibited cost and will save dozens of families at any time from trekking to the US border and being separated. Seems like a good start.
See if Legend and all the others who “care so much” about these families would like to help make their trek much shorter, and allow them to stay in these new facilities (or hotel) rather than US detention while they await an answer on asylum. Mexico is also concerned about how these families are treated in the US so I’m sure they’ll provide the land very cheap.
Maybe this isn’t the best idea. But there are real steps that can be taken by private citizens to make life better for those requesting asylum. Anyone who’s simply talking and demanding that Trump or congress “do something” doesn’t really care. Especially anyone with money (Legend) and more so anyone with money who has often complained about “income inequality” (Michael Moore). There are REAL steps you can take to make REAL improvements in asylum seekers’ lives. Do you REALLY care about those families or just hate Trump?

Not sure of your point. I think any business should have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. If you refuse service to regular folks, then word will get out and you will likely lose business. In other words, there may (or may not) be a monetary price to pay for refusing service tp certain groups of people....society may judge you harshly (as was the case with Red Hen), but there should not be a legal price. We live in a free country.
Some folks were against the civil rights act in 1960’s. Why? Well, most sane people were happy that the civil rights act prevented the government from discriminating based on race, color, sex...etc. In other words it ended government institutionalized discrimination which was a great thing. But, the part some folks didn’t like was that it compelled privately held businesses to not discriminate as well.
Now, I am not in favor of discrimination of any kind, but if a lesbian woman wants to open up a restaurant to serve exclusively lesbian couples, shouldn’t she have that right? According to the Civil right act, she cannot only allow lesbian women to dine at her restaurant. The Civil Rights act also made Men’s Clubs, Women’s clubs, Black Club’s all illegal because they are all discriminatory. I personally feel that busness should be allowed to say “We only want to do business with men” or “We only want to do business with women.” What’s the big deal and who’s business is it to say otherwise? Look at the BLM protests of a few years ago where restaurants were prohibited by unelected human rights panels in NYC from even kicking out non-paying non-customers who were solely there to harass customers who were eating a meal, regardless of the customers’ politics (that they were white, was sufficient for this harassment).
