US military plans migrant tent camps amid Trump crackdown (Cost $233 million every six months)

The US Navy is reportedly planning to build sprawling immigrant detention centres on military bases, amid a Trump crackdown at the US-Mexico border.

A draft memo obtained by Time magazine outlines plans to build "austere" tent camps to house 25,000 migrants.

The memo says the camps would be built on abandoned airfields in California, Alabama, and Arizona.

Another camp near San Francisco is being designed for as many as 47,000 people, the memo says.

A Pentagon spokesman said the military had not been asked by the Department for Homeland Security (DHS) to draw up the specific plans, but was engaging in "prudent planning... should the DHS ask for assistance in housing adult illegal immigrants".

The US military said on Thursday it had been asked by the government to get ready to house up to 20,000 immigrant children.

The Navy memo estimates the force would spend $233 million (£175m) to run a facility for 25,000 people for six-months....

Unfortunately the Army cannot be used without a Posse Comitatus abeyance declaration

Posse Comittus does not apply to border protection. You are not a lawyer obviously.

Fort Irwin is too close and too much like home for them. How about Elmendorf AFB instead?

our side finds ways to bitch.

Trump's election has revealed how many freepers are globalist hacks and/or plain stupid. It's been a rough rode around here for patriots.

It's also revealed how many "patriots" have no sense of reality and think if they keep c rapping on the best President in our life times that they can change reality for the better.....Many also seem to think that Trump's protectionism is being a "free trader"....They make up things as they go and then have the temerity to make fun of the Left for doing the same crap.

Did you leave the "o" off an attempt at "rodeo"? THat would be preferable to the reality.....

Protectionists and Free Traders are polar opposites.

I hate to say this but I’m not seeing any change in immigration from Obama. If Trump starts putting these people in remote populations like Obama didi he will lose a lot of support. Obama tried to put these people on an abandoned Navy airfield in Baldwin County, Alabama. The residents of Baldwin County successfully fought it. Now Trump is try to put 25000 of them on this same airfield. This area went something like 79% Trump. Not good.

You should see the NEW ELECTRONIC PHARMACY REGISTRATION SYSTEM they rolled out 3 days ago. TOTAL CHAOS. We have a small Navy base, Pharmacy accommodates about 50 designed for Active duty/spouses. DoD MANDATED Tricare Life to use the Base Pharmacy for daily meds. Many drive in from MS or Arkansas. Not equipped for Seniors, Handicapped, has 6 electric wheelchair carts, people put their OXY tanks in shopping carts or used them as walkers, parking is as bad, very handicapped limited. There were 100 when I went in to fill and pick up a med. Both were necessary new Synthyroid and a GI pill. 2 hrs later it was at 150+. Any 1 who turned in a script MIGHT get it Mon or Tue IF they can get through this Chaos. I videoed it when I went in, should have when I came out. I was in pain about to vomit. Called all 3 of my DC congress Critters and reamed whoever answered the phone out over it. Imagine what Pensacola Pharmacy of 400+ looked like over this unnecessary Electronic System?

And they purpose to add Illegals to this MESS? FUBAR.

Short of a armed attack such as the Columbus imcident liberal judges will obstruct any direct use of the armed forces on the border. Watch the fumbling around if Obrador’s scheme is implemented.

The C-I-C has the authority to protect the border. Judges cannot stop that.

Theoretically true. However, unless there are organized armed attacks on specific locations the judiciary, the media and the ingrained distaste and institutional resistance within the defense establishment to this mission will hamstring any such attempt.

I like Taco Bell. Make dog food of them just as Hoffa was ‘used’.
