Who could of possibly seen this coming?
President Trump signed an EO today that essentially allows families to be detained together in order to stop the issue of separating children from parents. This, we were assured, was the primary concern of the most virtuous among us who have driven a news cycle of hysteria the last month.
Furthermore, this was a situation so dire they said, so terrible, that the President needed to simply ignore the law and stop separations on his own
So what happens when he actually does what they want?

There’s the mask slipping. This was always about catch and release being forced to return, not concern for kids spending 20 days in well equipped HHS shelters before going to live with family members in the interior.

Surprised? Of course you aren’t. If you had under 12 on the total number of hours it’d take for the Democrats and media figures to decide that ending family separations isn’t a good thing, collect your winnings at the window.
This should be a lesson to some conservatives who let themselves become pawns in this battle. I think most of their concerns were sincere but you can challenge a policy logically and with real solutions without playing into the hyperbole of the Democrat/media alliance.
Anyone that thought this was all good faith outrage from the left was kidding themselves. I’ll leave you with this nugget of truth from RedState writer Brandon Morse…

The MSM is celebrating Trump's big surrender and flip (their big victory) while starting to talk about how Trump's keeping families together order is illegal after all, while still calling him a liar for claiming it was.

This was completely expected. I expected it. I talked about it to my friends. I was sorely disappointed that Trump caved on this one.
In fact, Trump caved like a deep state republican. It’s the ol’ Lucy and football thing.

Yes and no.
He caved regarding rhetoric about separating the families to deter other families from trying to sneak in.
But it was that same rhetoric that the left/Dems/MSM used a HUGE club to beat with getting Trump's family, even Ted Cruz and most Republicans to beg Trump to do something about it.
In practice its not clear that this order changes anything except getting Dems to oppose ‘Keeping families together’.
Time will tell.
Let them attack. By taking a somewhat moderate stance here, POTUS has forced the democrats even further to the left to oppose him. By the time the midterms roll around, the democrats will literally be asking voters to vote for higher taxes, vote for mandated insurance, and vote for unchecked borders. There is, and has been a pattern, to the way DJT operates. Last night CNN was running a Kyron that said the following:
TRUMP FLIPS ON FAMILY SEPARATIONS, SIGNING AN EXECUTIVE ORDER,THAT WASN’T NEEDED,TO END HIS OWN ADMINISTRATION’S POLICY.
I mean how cringe-worthy is that? What does the average person trying to read that think? How desperate does it make CNN, and the MSN look to try and squeeze THREE digs into the lower 3rd of their screen?
Good point. It speaks to why I hope there is a reason we’re not aware of, and this sacrifice of a bishop leads us at least to check, if not checkmate.
The left treats Trump like the muslim world treats Israel. They do not believe in the right of Trump or Israel to exist.
It drives the muslim world absolutely insane that in the center of the muslim world there is a small Jewish state that for decades of trying, they can’t get rid of. It isn’t supposed to be like that if their god was all powerful.
The dems are the same way with Trump. He should not have been elected. It was impossible in their mind. The election was rigged, it was Hillary’s turn and Trump was a fool. Then the impossible happened, Trump won. Since then they have acted with the same insane mindset that the muslims have against Israel. They are currently in the process of destroying themselves and their country just to rid themselves of the impossible thing.
As for what Trump did yesterday, only time will tell if this is a piece of a bigger plan. You are correct in saying that no matter what Trump does, the left will claim it is bad, reckless, stupid, foolish, etc... For the most part, Trump plays with then like a cat and a laser pointer.
