It’s one thing to respect a person and another to respect their views; maybe that’s what the OP meant.
I know a lot of people whose views I can’t respect at all - they are knee-jerk libs, largely ignorant, who polly-parrot whatever the MSM or the Dems tell them.
But many of them are kind, generous, thoughtful, accomplished people in other areas of life, and I can respect that.
I don’t, however, discuss politics with them.
