It has long been a paradox that very smart people can embrace the most insane stupidity.

Hitler and Stalin both had their fawning admirers, smart and accomplished Western people (scientists, businessmen) that were easily gullible and pliable.

And we still see the same thing today - Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos, for example, two really smart computer guys that are completely hoodwinked and clueless when it comes to Democrat-leftist lies.

Political stupidity and career smarts are unfortunately an all-too-common combination in this world.
