Ever since Trayvon Martin’s tragic death, his parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, have been fighting to make sure other families don’t have to experience the same pain as they did. Due to their heavy involvement in gun reform and social justice, Fulton and Martin will reportedly be honored at VH1’s 2018 Trailblazer Honors.
Trayvon Martin’s death pushed his parents to the forefront and they have been active in speaking out against gun violence, racial and social injustice and sharing the pain of having to bury a child. In 2012, they founded the Trayvon Martin Foundation to provide advocacy for families who were victims of violent crimes and to raise awareness about gun violence and gender and racial profiling. Fulton and Martin, who have been divorced since 1999, also released a book titled Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin last year that not only details the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement but also gives an emotional account of how their lives changed after their son’s untimely death. They have even considered getting involved in politics....

Just think: If only George Zimmerman had been unarmed, Trayvon Martin could have beaten him to death! Imagine how proud Trayvon’s parents would be! The “white Hispanic” trying to protect himself and his neighborhood would be dead, his black killer would be alive, and Social Justice would have triumphed!

I think they are being honored for their “activism” after the death of Trayvon, not for the crappy parenting job they did.
What have they trailblazed?
Backed by probably the same group driving David Hogg they’ve profited off the death of their child to espouse socialist and meaningless platitudes that do not solve the problems they’re whining about and, in fact, make them worse.
Trayvon didn’t die because of gun violence -
Trayvon WAS violent and followed the examples set by gangsta rap artists and hate speech purveyors.
Trayvon didn’t die because he was black.
Trayvon died because he attacked someone with intent to harm and that person defended himself.
And yet the SJWs at VH1 have to decorate his parents (who did such a great job raising a child to violently stalk and attack someone) with meaningless platitudes.
The mother came out and said the voice on video was NOT her son- then later- after BLM got to her- she changed her story- So is she gettign an award for lying?
That’s so, yesterday.
But when we sleep what dreams may come? Ah, there’s the rub!
He was even awarded a college degree-———the whole thing is like a comedy now.
