President Trump seems to be convincing some of his harshest critics, even a former Never Trumper like Mitt Romney
In the 2012 presidential campaign, Republican nominee Mitt Romney had victory in his sights after a strong first debate performance against the incumbent, Barack Obama. Instead of continuing to campaign on the offensive, Romney decided to play defense, tamp down his criticism of Obama and finish the race on a positive note.
This lamebrain strategy failed miserably as Romney lost the final two debates, in which he refused to vigorously condemn Obama and his horrible policies. Not surprisingly, Obama won the election as Romney was denied the presidency a second time.
*** LOSER RINO ***
That will not change.
UT wants its bishop in D.C.
Romney is another Juan McCain. He goes into Oscar nominee mode during the elections to convince everyone that he is the Mother of All Conservatives. Once the voters are fooled and he is reelected, he goes back to constantly “reaching across the aisle” to his commie gals and pals to insure they get everything that they want.
jeez, Mitt must really want to win
It’s all about expediency. If Mitt wins he will follow the McCain/Flake playbook.
The author has it right:
“These comments were offered by a Republican Senate candidate who is running against a more conservative challenger, Dr. Mike Kennedy, in Utahs GOP primary on June 26. Romney realizes that the President has support among Republican voters in Utah and he does not want to alienate the base of the party.”
Didnt Mitt say a couple weeks ago that he would have been tougher than Trump on illegal immigration or some BS. Mitt is a fake, a phoney and a fraud.
right......don’t buy it...he is the consummate opportunist and just wants to win his carpet-bagging election in Utah
Mitts just trying to get that Utah Senate seat.
I can take all the trust I have in Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell (which is none), then cut it in half, then take a teeny sliver of THAT and THAT’S how much trust I have in Mitt Romney.
But, by the way, Mitt, I want my vote for you back.
...until he gets elected, then he’ll be the biggest PIA since Juan McCain.
Hmmm....Something about Leopards never completely changing their spots. Be ever watchful of Mr. Romney in all of his momentary morphings of convenience.
J. McCain perfected the dark art of playing a part during the campaign, only to rip the mask off later, exposing the horrid Dr, Jekyll still lurking underneath. Sufficient numbers of people fell for the performance over and over and over.
Romney needs an endorsement from Trump if he has a chance at winning a senate seat.
Romney’s fate is to be locked in a room with the late Evan Mecham for a century or two.
He wants to get elected and then he revert to his nasty mouth behavior.
Romney is basically a weak and not very intelligent man with very negotiable principles, so hell support whoever he sees as being successful. And now he sees Trump as being successful, so hes changed his tune. But he could change it to something else again at any moment.
until the election is over.
Romulus must be getting nervious about his Senate primary.
Don’t be surprised when he goes back to his anti-Trump ways if he
wins the primary.
Its an election.
He is saying what he thinks will get him elected.
Disregard.
