With the current employment numbers, he should get 25%. People like paychecks
It can’t hurt, and may help a little.
The gesture should be conducted in a low key fashion, with very few if any cameras or blabbermouth ‘reporters’.
The more advance notice to a joint meeting, the more some Race-Baiter will try to sabotage it; talk the athlete out of meeting with Trump anywhere, or for any reason. Jay Z and LeBron James are two such people, who thrive off of racial hatred and manipulation of weaker minds (i.e. Steph Curry).
He’s forcing their hand to substantiate their complaints with real cases and not just the bs assumptions that get thrown around.
Not a one will take him up on it.
Nothing good ever came from appeasing spoiled children.
I highly doubt this will be the end of it. If history is any guide, the ‘demands’ by the overpaid thugs masking as professionals will only intensify.
“He just needs to slowly peel-off 5 or 10% of black and Hispanic voters and the Democrats will have no chance in the next presidential election.”
President Trump is aways far ahead of the Democrats on matters of race.
Pardoning several thousand Blacks in Swing States would provide a lock for Trump winning in 2020.
I do always wonder with protestors, is it about making things better or the protest in and of itself? And they’d really have to humble themselves to put forth names to President Trump.
There were players who claimed they knew innocent black men who were victims of a racist justice system. They probably didnt expect that they would have to name names. With innocent being such a subjective claim for them. This should be interesting.
Considering their propensity to commit violent crimes, they should take him up on his offer. They may need their own pardon soon.
I guess one man’s “olive branch” is another man’s “put up or shut up”.
He ain’t offering Jack@#$%. He’s making them put up or shut up and he knows they won’t be able to put up. Trump is some kind of genius. Really like a svengali who is the LEFT’s worse nitemare. Amazing to watch........
I am certain there are legitimate cases of police abuse. In a country this size, there are legitimate cases of everything. With that said, 99 percent our police officers are doing a great job and do not deserve the insult the NFL players want to send their way every Sunday.
The players really screwed up with this protest. They counted on the country to follow their lead and ‘Virtue Signal’ and ‘Crisis Act’ along with them. They counted wrong.
The Civiil Rights movement was necessary...sadly. But, most reasonable people know the sad and cruel days of government sponsored racial injustice are at least 60 years in our rear view mirrow. Martin Luther King’s speech was a victory speech.....not a call to arms.
My belief is the identity of so many black Americans is tied up in ‘being held down by the man’ and they just cant let it go. In some ways it’s like letting go of a job when you’ve been laid off or forced to deal with the loss of a loved one. It’s difficult, emotional, painful, but also necessay. The black community is having trouble dealing with....letting go. It’s just that simple.
In any case, the Civil Rights movement pretty much finished running it’s course in the late 1960’s and 50 years later President Trump finally has the guts to call the black community out on it. The NFL players specifically and black community in general is not simply used to this type of treatment.
Through Trumps’ latest move, the players have now been asked to justify their behavior. They’ll find a few examples, but for the most part they will come up empty. Everyone knows that too......especially the players.
I tell my friends that Trump doesn’t represent a new beginning for the KKK or the Nazi party like they claim. No.....Trump represents something much more profound and real: The end of the American society viewing black people as victims. Like a death in the family, it’s a difficult pill to swallow, but we’ll all get through this.....together.
No, Mr. President. No input from the national felons league on pardons. Matter of fact....no pardons unless there is a clear case of innocence.
Brilliant move onTrump’s part.
Brilliant move onTrump’s part.
