So what? Why is it important? Are we to look and favor people for their color, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or how many times they took a shower in the past year? So she has an Indian heritage, does that make her better? Identity politics is another tool of the left for control and manipulation. What about truth and morality? Where does that fit?

Good points.

I would note also, that the left focus on the identity politics, only applies to those who are also liberal/left.

So then, the left does not recognize Republican and/or conservative members of the recognized grievance groups.

Clarence Thomas comes to mind. There are so many others who belong to minority groups, who are not lauded by the left for their achievements, because they aren’t liberal/left.

And look at so many women who are not considered worthy by the left. Such as Sarah Palin.

If Sarah Palin were liberal, based on her background and achievements and life, she would have been celebrated as a combination of Joan of Arc, Rosie the Riveter, and Annie Oakley.

She would have been celebrated by the women’s groups and women’s magazines, who write those articles about women wanting to have it all. Sarah has had it all, based on their criteria, by moving up to high levels in her chosen profession, and still having a fulfilling family life.
