I could only watch half of it. A ditzy young blonde interviewing our RINO Speaker. She was like a chicken, squawking constantly. I remember Buckley leaning back in his chair, through in his thoughts and speaking so eloquently. The old show was a good intellectual exercise for 60 minutes. This show is 30 minutes-that's good. My question: Why did PBS bother to call this show by that name? A missed opportunity-big time.
Just pushing the Leftist line of BS
What do you expect from leftist PBS? Intellectualism?
HA-ha, I crack myself up.
What about the RevernnnnnnJacksonnnnn
WFB was incomparable. I haven’t seen the current incarnation of the show, but I still agree with you...without Buckley, it should be called something else.
Needs redirection toward a free marketplace of ideas, thereby escaping the conformity of thought control and "herding" mentality provided by Progressivism.
As I said he sat leaning back on his chair, very comfortable. This chick was all posture. Deep thoughts? I’m sure she’s smart but I heard none.
I too tried to watch and made it as far as Ryan’s ideas to get people off the teat. At that point we turned it off. I thiMk we watched a never ending NCIS marathon.
Haven’t seen the show (and haven’t heard about it until now), but it’s hard to imagine ANY host filling WFB’s shoes and doing justice to the Firing Line brand. A big part of the fun of the old show was watching preppier-than-thou Bill Buckley taking on all comers from all walks of life (e.g., Cassius Clay, the Black Panthers et al). And also Buckley had the ability and connections to bring in guests like Mother Teresa.
This won’t work unless Margaret Hoover gets on the pole.
Quality entertainment is steadily devolving like society.
I cant even imagine Firing Line without the redoubtable Bill
Young?
PBS put out out so they could claim they weren’t 100% liberal. However putting a never-trumper as host just confirms they suck.
lol
Another Marxist State Media 30 minute show of intellectual masturbation by the host.
Ryan was a poor choice as guest. Fox News tried something recently called Wise Men with Wm. Bennett. I think it’s gone. There iS a market for deep intellectual conversation on ALL subjects like Buckley did. You don’t go there with a blonde.
