I have never heard this said as simply or as well.
Class war at its best.
The folks who are getting the free stuff don't like The folks who are paying for the free stuff , because The folks who are paying for the free stuff can no longer Afford to pay for both the free stuff and their own stuff.
And the folks who are paying for the free stuff Want the free stuff to stop.
And the folks who are getting the free stuff want even more Free stuff on top of the free stuff they are already getting!
Now.. The people who are forcing the people who pay For the free stuff have told the people who are RECEIVING The free stuff that the people who are PAYING for the Free stuff are being mean, prejudiced, and racist.
So.. The people who are GETTING the free stuff have been convinced they need to hate the people who are paying for the Free stuff by the people who are forcing some people to pay for their free stuff and giving them the free stuff in the first place.
We have let the free stuff giving go on for so long that there are now more people getting free stuff than paying for the Free stuff .
Now understand this.
All great democracies have committed financial suicide somewhere
Between 200 and 250 years after being founded.
The reason?
The voters figured out they could vote themselves money From the treasury by electing people who promised to give Them money from the treasury in exchange for electing them.
The United States officially became a Republic in 1776 , 238 years ago.
The number of people now getting free stuff outnumbers the people paying for the free stuff .
Failure to change that spells the end of the United States As we know it.

It pains me to say it, but I’ve come to believe that this great experiment in republican democracy has passed its prime and begun a long, slow descent. Was it Edmund Burke who said “there’s a deal of ruin in a nation”? In any case, because we’re still an unimaginably wealthy people, the descent will be slow and stretch over many generations. The notion of some sort of civil war is thrilling, but I fear we’ve become too supine for that. Still, if there is to be some sort of armed conflict, I pray it comes in my lifetime! My ancestors were active in the Revolution, and I’d jump at the chance to play some role in a Second Revolution. In the meantime I’ll sit back and watch the show.
The lynchpin of the LEFT is the LEFT MEDIA CARTEL. They control the LEFTIST propaganda message for the LEFT.

because we have competing givemedats...the ones receiving all the welfare/free food/free housing/ etc AND the ones in govt receiving all those huge obscene salaries/bennies/pensions...its almost impossible to go after both groups....

I cut cable in 1997. I don’t want to pay to get overwhelmed with commercials.
Actually the stock market via mutual funds keeps the welfare state going.
The Federal Reserve (1913) cuts interest rates to drive money into mutual funds and the stock market.
The federal income tax (1913) gathers the money for the welfare state.
There’s a reason the super-rich and the leftists row together.
Well I retired recently, so my taxes — income taxes — should be nearly nothing. But of course everything is taxed nowadays . . . It still really galls me that over my working life I paid thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars in taxes, much of which was used to subsidize irresponsibility and indolence. I don’t see this changing any time soon. Indeed, it’s likely to grow worse as we become indistinguishable from the socialist Europeans.

While this is true, one can argue that The United States ceased being a republic in 1913-14 when the 17th Amendment was passed. The 17th Amendment provided for senators to be elected by popular vote instead of appointment by state legislatures. In doing so, the interests of the states was no longer relevant.
A good way to look at it is that now any time you work for yourself or on projects for others, you owe no additional tax.
Your time is all your own (except for filling out the forms). No more partial time slavery working for the gov’ts.
