“You may want to read the definition of net neutrality as found on Wiki.”

Thanks, but I’ll trust TED CRUZ on this long before I’ll trust Elizabeth Warren - but you’re certainly entitled to pick your heroes too.

You’re completely ignoring the very basis of America’s greatness: the best ideas win, and foolish ideas fail.

The purpose of “net neutrality” is to apply marxist/gramsian ideals to the operation of the entirety of our communications infrastructure, making the failing ideas as visible as the most successful ideas.

Its completely insane.

Still pushing the lie that says net neutrality means the internet will be neutral. Of course, it will do nothing of the sort. It will cause the likes of Zuckerberg to have more power, and keep competition from starting up. If the democrats want it, that alone should tell conservatives we need to get rid of it. It’s the old “naming game”, sort of like when states pushed “home rule”, telling voters it would give local jurisdictions to run their own municipalities, or that “right to work” would benefit workers.

We often accuse liberals of conflating and distorting facts. The Wiki article was not written by Warren. It's an intelligent article citing many authoritative sources. re: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=wiki+net+neutrality&atb=v101-3&ia=web

I don't see net neutrality as a political argument as much as a corporation vs consumer issue. I don't see net neutrality picking winners and losers, in fact just the opposite. The repeal of net neutrality (the current law) allows ISPs to throttle speed and band width based on who you and me choose to access on the internet.

Some here on FR may believe there is no place for utility commissions; that monopolies should operate unfettered; that laissez-faire is always a good thing. I am not one of those persons. I have no more trust in the benevolence and fairness of corporations like Comcast (and others) as I do government. There is a reason we regulate monopolies and enforce anti-trust laws. ISPs should not have the right, as they currently do, to throttle my internet speed because of who I choose to access on the Internet. Sell me Internet speed/band width BUT let me decide who I choose to access.

In some ways, net neutrality is similar in the way Facebook and other social media discriminate against Conservatives and Christians. The corporation discriminates as to: use, priority, right to publish and access based on whether you are a liberal vs Conservative or Christian. This is wrong. Facebook and other social media should treat all users as equal.

“Net Neutrality” is a political agenda of Google et al, to have the providers of the telecom backbone transformed by extensive regulation from free enterprise companies to de facto public utilities, unable to operate as freely as Google et al but forced by regulation to serve them. If anything called “Net Neutrality” again becomes law, sell any shares you have in telecom or cable companies as fast as you can.
