BTW, if you ever go to Vegas and have the time, drive down to Boulder City and take the Hoover Dam tour. It’s an amazing sight. And an amazing site.

“So should we pave over the Grand Canyon and turn it into an industrial park, or strip malls?”

You must live in a city. This century is HUGE. Do you have any idea how many canyons we have? Big one? They don’t get paved over because it is too damn expensive. You want pristine wilderness? Stay away from a Natural Park. There are much more remote and wild places than those.

“Yes, I reckon that’s about right. But after traveling through parts of China where industry is king and nature is viewed as an alien force to be conquered and exploited, I think some regulation and preservation is warranted. All things in moderation, you know?”

Actually, China was primarily deforested by the construction of the Forbidden City and the Great Fleet and never recovered. However, there is now a reforestation program underway, meager though it my be. But, to your point, virtually all its major rivers and estuaries are polluted to the point of being dead. China indeed has huge environmental problems for sure.

Excuse me if I seem dense here, but you didn't originally have the name of the image, right? You didn't have John Muir. In fact, you were googling in order to find the name of the image.

So... how did you name the image to begin with? "Guy with beard"?

I'm not meaning to be dumb. I'm just curious.

I’m not understanding your question. But take any name, go to
google and search for image on that name. See what comes up.
Maybe nothing or a lot of images.

Right click the image and the options include "search Google for image."

This only gives the best guess but it does a pixel recognition match. If it is an unknown person it will say photo of a man or woman playing chess, etc.

I found an obscure image of Madame Curie, then right clicked and selected "searched Google for the image", and this is the response.             Pretty cool, right?

OK. That’s fascinating! It looks like a fun thing to be able to do. But I don’t have Chrome (sigh).

One more tidbit of info that I used.

.....
you asked: So... how did you name the image to begin with? “Guy with beard”?
....

Ans... I clicked on the link provided at the top left of the
page. (the sun also rises radio show ^) It took me to the source
with the photo. From there I copied the photo location link
and posted it here as an image.

Also post #3 & 4 gives the name of the person. John Muir.

Take care..........
