It has been that way for decades ever since we moved into California.
When we first moved here in 1971, we had a two great baby sitters. One young lady was a third generation Japanese American and the other was like 5th or 6th generation Chinese American. They both had straight A’s in all of their schooling, and they were turned down by the UC system.
They applied to out state schools and were accepted. One became a Doctor like her father and the other became a Vet.
They are now retiring after successful professional careers. Their kids and grand children have or are facing the same bs.
However, the UC System, also, now discriminates against white middle class students of both sexes. We had a younger relative with all A’s in her entire life with the exception of two b’s. She was graduated last year with highest honors from an excellent private high school.
She is/was a STEM candidate, and she was turned down at every Cal school she applied to. She was accepted at every out of state school she applied to. She is now attending a STEM program in a great east coast school with an excellent half scholarship. She is not Asian, but is an evil 80-90% western/northern/UK European DNA person.
Her younger brother who has been in the Math Olympics and has gotten straight A’s in every STEM class he has ever had. Like his Dad and evil Grandfather, he made C’s or B’s in the required bs courses. His counselor has told him to forget any full time University and to enroll in community colleges after he graduates.
I have told him to take as much Spanish as he can take and to have his Amigo buddies help him to really master Verbal Spanish. Then, take some high level computer programming course for a couple of years after high school.
Then, he can enlist and join the Navy or Air Force cyber intel group. We will be monitoring/fighting the Mexican thugs for decades, and he will have a good career with either the AF or Navy.
Then, Uncle Sam will pay for a degree if he wants or needs one.
I was going to predict a fire in the file archive department compliments of the Clinton Mafia. Followed, of course, by the “suicides”.

Why is the left oppressing Asians?
We can ration gas under JC Carter based on odd or even numbered license plates, why not ration education based on a quota system that simply states no white males, no Asians, no body else who graduated the 8th grade for Har-vardddd.
And should the Trump Admin peel back the layers of institutionalized College Racism, oops I mean discrimination... err ah, underrepresentation of Asian’s at Liberal Arts Schools it will tilt a highly educated logical thinking slice of the population away from the politics of radical destruction. My children are WASP-Korean and were not given any advantages for college, and they went on the Daddy Plan - aka, that $100 a month from the month of birth invested in mutual funds, and then everything else dad and mom got from working and tax returns to pay up front the complete package. This old man would be living “rent free” now but 10 years later only have $30K on the mortgage left.
