What hes obscuring is that law enforcement officials can be extremely influential in persuading lawmakers to act, and as sheriff, he would enthusiastically enforce citizen disarmament edicts. That he would take an oath to the Constitution seems not to trouble Fisher, as there are evidently no citizen disarmament laws he would refuse to issue to his subordinates or to obey himselfConsider him to be the norm in law enforcement. There is no law so vile or so repugnant that police would not enforce it. Take the case of the French police in WWII. The enthusiastically rounded up Jews for their Nazi masters even knowing that they were sending their fellow citizens to their deaths. Any fool that says "Oh but it would be different here." has to postulate that human nature is different between now and here and then and there. It isn't.

I have known many NYPD, Village cops, Sheriffs, Deputies, State Police, local National Guardsmen, etc. Without exception, they ALL admitted to me (Sub Rosa) they would NOT follow confiscation orders!

This NC sheriff would be the one signing off on your CCW license app.
I imagine it would not be a smooth process even though NC is a shall issue state.
