It is my understanding that Trump and Sessions have seen at least the partial report that the DOJ IG is soon to release. The report implicated McCabe in wrongdoing and recommends his termination. He was relieved of duties immediately when Wray read the incriminating report.
Obviously Schmidt isn't privy to this information or doesn't follow the news.
It strikes me as a wonderful added benefit to Trump getting elected and that is the outing of the true enemies of America and its people.
Schmidt outed himself as a democRAT after bad-mouthing his candidate Sarah Palin in the McCain/Palin matchup in 2008.
His attitude and mocking of Trump is in lock-step with what democRATS say about Trump.
Schmidt is a de facto democRAT in residence at CNN last time I saw him.
