McCain should retire NOW, let the governor pick an interim replacement that can represent the state now and compete in November as the sitting Senator.

John McCain may never cast another vote in the U.S. Senate.
But he plans to stay in Arizona and the U.S. Senate, according to a high-level White House source, regardless of GOP-backed pressure for him to retire from the Senate.
That is a fine example of the permanent ruling class that has slowly taken over this country. Although technically elected positions, virtually all become appointments for life. And in many cases, when that Senator or Congressman dies, their seat is “inherited” by their wife or child.
It is hard for humans to break those old habits of an imperial ruling class. A lot of people are very comfortable with it.

Hope the AZ governor chooses a decent replacement.
PS, I’m starting to contemplate a move from Washington state to Arizona. I’m retired now and can’t abide the thought of being soaked by taxes in my old age to fund the insanity in this crazy place.

The biggest GOP security leakier in the last 30 years is nearly done.
The last of the Keating 5 will be gone from the Gov.
Now if we can just keep Cindy or Megan from getting appointed to his seat....
