Ordering online sometimes I wonder if you get goods that are rejects, near expiration, definitely dented cans, or overstocks from stores around the country. And I like their Great Value coffee which at least once was unsealed meaning I didn't think anything was added to it but it did affect the freshness. Too much a hassle to complain and return, just didn't taste as good.
I look and compare prices all over. Even Jet.com is ok but not always competitive. And I don't like to spend too much time shopping online. And amazon free shipping you have to watch because if an associate seller shipped from a different location (often) it doesn't qualify for free shipping and is sky high. So watch it. I don't use the 2-day premium method, not cost effective for me.
Amazon online ordering is much better designed and user friendly. Walmart sucks, and they don't code as well for different browsers. And at times impossibly slow. Amazon is always fast. Plus now I should be able to toggle between shopping online or local Walmart for pick-up using two different passwords, and it doesn't work. And I did find their 800# but sometimes they aren't much help.
Amazon returns or problems work pretty well if you don't deal with a real person. I wouldn't really trust anything where I didn't talk to a real person at Walmart ever "took" but fell off into some cyber black hole.
But I had one great experience with Walmart. I ordered a box which tracking had showed was delivered but didn't show up on my porch. So far stealing hasn't been an issue, checked to see if they dropped it in back thinking my house is a duplex or on the porch next door.
So I call them and explain what happened. They put in another order. Late that night, I flipped on the porch light and there was my box. Everything in good shape. So I call next morning to see if it was too late to cancel the new order, it hadn't been shipped yet, they cancelled and thanked me for being honest. And they gave me a generous "good customer" refund on a previous order which was more than the current one which seemed odd. Can't remember how much but appreciated it.
I know I go on and on sometimes, but when I started using the local store searches, they only allow a 1-hour window for pickup. So I make screen captures of the item which has a picture price and aisle location and assemble a list. It's real helpful to the person who shopped for me. Or even if you do your own shopping, might save time if you aren't used to where everything is.
Shop Amazon and build the Bezos leftist empire.
