Yes—Glad you brought up the James Webb Space Telescope!
NASA is claiming in their PR that it will “replace” Hubble, but it’s an infra-red telescope and won’t produce optical pictures.
It’s over budget, over-due, and if for any reason it doesn’t work, it’s impossible to repair it in Space.

Indeed

Hugely over budget.....partially because the specifications kept changing. It’s exoensive to hit a moving target. Partially because much of what was being done had not been done before so the learning curve was painful

And waaaaau behind schedule

The James Webb will produce optical pictures in false color; the wavelengths will be adjusted into the visual band. It will look as though they were taken in ordinary light. Most things that emit light emit infrared as well, so you won’t miss much. The advantage is that infrared is also able to penetrate dust clouds much better than ordinary visible.
