We still pick up pennies from the sidewalk.
Unlikely any of my kin would display such behavior, not sober anyway.
And most of them are teetotalers because water is somewhat inexpensive.
My wife does that. I try but don't have as good of an eye for finding them. She also taught our children to pick them up.
Her goal is a penny a day and last year at the end of December she deposited over $32, and that doesn't count the $20 and $5 bills she found on the ground. She doesn't have me beat as in the past six years I have found three $100 bills and one $50 bill.
